The only thing that doesn't change is that everything changes

This saying popped into my mind this morning as I brushed my teeth. I haven't thought about it for years. I first read it when I was 19 and it affected me deeply. At the time I wrote it down and kept reading. I would recite it internally. It brought me both a sense of peace and melancholy, at the same time.
At 19, I was sad when first read it. Sad that nothing would remain - not my parents, my family, my friends, the house I was living in - everything would change. And sadness at the temporary nature of life and its continuous cycles. I also felt a deep peace that everything changes and that would forever remain a constant in my life. Complete paradox right?
The only thing that doesn't change is the fact that everything changes. How pertinent is this right now with so many feeling uncertainty in the world and the future? And everything has changed in 2020. How we work, how we communicate, how children are being educated, how we socialise, how we connect with others, how we take care of ourselves and our health, how we appreciate the small things and the big things (key workers I love you) - it's all changed. So much has changed and continues to transform - because the only thing that doesn't change is the fact that everything changes.
Think of the most challenging situation in your life right now. That too will change. Because everything does. The unhappy relationship, the unappreciative boss, the hateful ex, the tightness in your body, the dissatisfaction at work, the disrespectful child, the lonely friendships - will all change. It always does. Let yourself find peace in this truth and take solace.
And if when you read that your insides tightened and you're scared it's going to change and worsen - rather than change for the better - treat yourself to a one-hour Reiki Healing session. It'll help you release the fear from your body, emotions and mental state and connect you back with peace and happiness 💫🙌✨ 🥳 The situation doesn't need to have changed before before you can feel happy, at ease and relaxed 💝
As always, You Got This. (I guess that doesn't change 😂)
