An exercise to bring you peace

Feb2021AquariusNewMoon

Today is a New Moon. This happens every month but today's is particularly interesting because the Sun, Moon and 4 other planets are all in the energy of Aquarius. This concentrated energy means its a powerful day! You may like to read and/or recite the affirmation below (if it feels right) tonight. I especially like the first two lines "I reconnect with my authentic self.  feel my inner spark glow". There are no right or wrong practices at the New Moon (or Full Moon for that matter) just having an awareness of the heightened energy and being kind to yourself and going with YOUR flow is more than enough :)

In speaking with clients and friends and family it seems to be a tough time right now for so many. Many are not feeling their inner spark glow. If you're fed up and burnt out, I get it. If you're worried about half term next week, I feel you. If the freezing weather and nowhere to go is frustrating you, I hear you. And while the outside situation is as it is and I can't change that for you, I do want to share a practice I do, which may bring you peace.

I've really been called to be more conscious of my breathing recently. I think in breaking my wrist I've become even more aware of my body (because how can you not when you learn to do everything one handed? :) but being indoors with the heating on all day I definitely notice a difference. So I'm consciously making an effort to breathe more deeply. I wake up and take 4 deep abdominal breaths to start the day. Breathing from the belly, in through my nose and out through my mouth. This simple practice in itself has made me more aware of my breath throughout the day and as soon as I'm aware I immediately take a deep breath and slooooowly exhale. I'm doing it now as I type :)

I don't need to tell you the benefits of deep breathing, they are immense and widely known. And with so much out of our control, the simple act of breathing - which most of us do unconsciously - is something we do have control over and can really help us. The key is to breathe from your belly rather than your chest. And to breathe as long and as deeply as is comfortable.

Here is a practice to bring peace along with the breath. I internally say the words, imagining the light or love, while breathing deeply:

Deep inhale: Light in front of me ✨
Deep exhale: Light behind me ✨
Deep inhale: Light at my right ✨
Deep exhale: Light at my left ✨
Deep inhale: Light above me ✨
Deep exhale: Light below me ✨
Deep inhale: Light surrounds me ✨
Deep exhale: Light always with me ✨

Deep inhale: Love in front of me ❤️
Deep exhale: Love behind me ❤️
Deep inhale: Love at my right ❤️
Deep exhale: Love at my left ❤️
Deep inhale: Love above me ❤️
Deep exhale: Love below me ❤️
Deep inhale: Love surrounds me ❤️
Deep exhale: Love always with me ❤️

It really relaxes me and sets me up for the day. Makes you feel you're not alone too ❤️

You can also add "Peace" by replacing the word "Light" with "Peace". Or any other word you feel called to. It's a simple, quick and effective technique! Try it and let me know how you get on :) It doesn't take long and easily done with the kids too.

I hope this helps and am wishing you a wonderful week ahead ✨🥰

With all my love,
Chandrika ❣️
